We collect information you provide when creating an account, including your name, email address, phone number, and delivery address. We also collect shipping and transaction data related to your use of our services.
We use your information to provide our shipping and purchasing services, process payments, send notifications about your shipments, and improve our services.
We use Meta's pixel on our public and sign-up pages to measure our ads, including new account registrations; no portal, invoice or shipment data is shared. Tracking is disabled in regions requiring advertising consent and where location is unknown, and email or phone matching is not enabled without explicit advertising acceptance. To opt out, email orders@bahamaspurchasing.com.
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only with service providers necessary to deliver your packages (carriers, customs brokers) and as required by law.
We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your personal information, including encryption of data in transit and at rest.
You have the right to access, update, or delete your personal information. Contact us at orders@bahamaspurchasing.com to exercise these rights.
The Bahamas Purchasing – Landed Cost Calculator is a Chrome browser extension that helps users estimate the total landed cost of shipping products from Amazon.com to The Bahamas.
The extension reads publicly visible product information on Amazon.com product pages, including the product price, estimated shipping weight, and product category. This information is used solely to calculate estimated duty, VAT, and shipping costs. The extension also uses chrome.storage to save your selected duty category preference locally on your device.
All calculations are performed locally within your browser. The extension does not collect, transmit, or store any personal data, browsing history, Amazon account information, or purchase history on any external server. No data leaves your device.
The extension does not include any analytics, telemetry, advertising, or tracking code of any kind.
The extension does not communicate with any third-party services. It operates entirely offline after installation.
Our mobile app is used both by customers and by our own delivery drivers. The location practices below apply only to the driver experience.
We do not collect device location from customer accounts. The only address information we hold is the delivery address you enter yourself.
While a driver is signed in to the driver area of the app on a company vehicle, the app collects the device's precise location, including while the phone is locked or the app is running in the background, and sends it to our dispatch system.
We use this location data to oversee our company vehicles, confirm delivery progress and proof of delivery, and give customers accurate delivery updates.
Location sharing only begins after the driver agrees to the in-app location disclosure and then grants location permission on the device. While location is being shared, an ongoing notification is displayed on the phone. Sharing stops as soon as the driver signs out of the app or withdraws the location permission in the phone's settings.
Driver location history is retained for up to 90 days and is then deleted automatically.
Driver location data is stored in our own dispatch system and is seen only by Bahamas Purchasing office staff. It is not sold, not shared with third parties, and never used for advertising or profiling. When a driver taps Navigate, the delivery address (not the driver's position) is passed to the phone's maps app.
The app also requests access to your camera and photo library so you can upload invoices, documents and delivery photos, and permission to send notifications so we can alert you about shipments, invoices and deliveries. Each of these is optional and only used for the purpose described.
If you have questions about this privacy policy, the mobile app or the Chrome extension, contact us at orders@bahamaspurchasing.com.
