We started Bahamas Purchasing out of pure frustration. Like many Bahamians, we were tired of the constant delays, sky-high prices, and total lack of transparency when trying to ship anything from the United States.
Every other service seemed designed to squeeze customers with dimensional weight fees, hidden surcharges, and unclear invoicing. We knew there had to be a better way.
So we built the shipping service we always wished existed, one that's honest, affordable, and actually works for everyday people and businesses across the Bahamas.

Bahamas Purchasing has operated since 2020, serving more than 8,000 customers who shop in the United States and receive their goods in The Bahamas. We handle purchasing assistance as well as freight forwarding: you can place your own order, or ask us to buy an item when you cannot complete a US checkout yourself. Both paths come back to the same receiving, shipping and customs process.
Our Fort Lauderdale warehouse is the starting point for your shipment with us. Use your warehouse address with the name line BP/First Last so incoming packages can be matched to your account. We log received packages as warehouse receipts, making it possible to see what has arrived before requesting consolidation. Free holding for up to 14 days helps you group orders without needing everything to reach Florida on the same day.
Nassau is where shipments enter our local warehouse and customs workflow. We prepare the customs entry and itemize freight, duty, VAT and the customs processing fee, rather than hiding government charges inside a single unexplained amount. Customers can receive delivery in Nassau or collect their goods there. Payment is due before you receive the goods; cash on delivery at hand-over counts.
Our Abaco branch receives shipments onward from Nassau and handles delivery in-house. Abaco is delivery only: there is no customer pickup at the branch. We also serve Grand Bahama and the other Family Islands. Air turnaround is 3–5 business days for Nassau and 5–7 business days for the Family Islands, counted from arrival at our Fort Lauderdale warehouse.
We ship clothing, electronics, home goods, furniture, appliances, auto parts, tools and business supplies. Everyday packages can travel by air on actual weight, with no dimensional-weight charges. Pallets and large items go by ocean. Restrictions still apply, so check the shipping FAQ before ordering an unusual item, or contact us for purchasing help.
